Hello! My name is Kellie Yada, a Japanese American Graphic Designer with a deep appreciation for cultural-identity and storytelling through visual communication. My design style is influenced by various experiences abroad and personal involvement in my cultural community as well as Japanese aesthetics which highlight balance and  harmony.

My time as a graphic design student at CSULB has also provided me with various opportunities to go abroad for my studies. In Seoul, Korea participating in a Summer branding workshop. As well as  a Spring semester in Hamburg, Germany where I took a type design and editorial design course. These experiences have allowed me to observe and understand how design trends and functionality can differ in different countries based on language, culture and customs, historical factors, and systems within their respective societies.

Aside from design, I play basketball, perform taiko (Japanese Drumming), do ikebana (flower arrangement), and do my best to stay involved in my cultural community. A few of my personal values include commitment, connection, and community.
