The ikebana exhibition poster is based on a print that I created in a printmaking course I took. It is a relief print created by carving a linoleum block and running it through a printing press. This design was scanned in and repurposed to create a save the date poster for an ikebana exhibition in Little Tokyo. The flower and text reaching out just beyond the confines of the box resembles ikebana itself where the composition of the arrangement is generally simple and restrained to allow natural elements to be emphasized when they traverse these restrictions.
